Sticky & Savoury, these Char Siu BBQ Ribs are made easy using our Tooksies Miso Saucy Dressing!
Ingredients
-
2 lbs pork ribs
-
2 tsp Chinese five spice
-
1 tsp black pepper
-
1 tbsp oyster sauce
-
1 tbsp sugar
-
3 tbsp Miso Saucy (plus 3 tbsp for basting)
-
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
-
1 tbsp honey
-
1/2 tsp sea salt
-
1 1/2 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
1/4 tsp red food dye (optional)
-
3 tbsp honey (for basting)
Directions
Prepare the Ribs:
Cut the pork ribs into single ribs and set aside
Make the Marinade:
In a bowl, mix all ingredients except the 3 tbsp honey and 3 tbsp Miso Saucy reserved for basting.
Marinate the Ribs
Reserve 2 tbsp of the marinade in a separate bowl for basting
Coat the pork ribs in the remaining marinade, ensuring all sides are well covered
Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow the flavours to penetrate
Prepare the Basting Sauce:
Add the 3 tbsp honey and 3 tbsp Miso Saucy to the reserved marinade
Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes, in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the mixture thickens and bubbles
Cook the Ribs:
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the ribs from the fridge, wrap them in foil, and place them on a baking tray.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
Char and Baste:
Remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap.
Brush generously with the thickened basting sauce
Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8 minutes, flipping and basting every 2 minutes until the ribs are nicely charred and caramelised.
Serve:
Let the ribs cool slightly before serving. Perfect for celebrating Chinese New Year with a flavourful, sticky, and smoky twist!
